an Add-Add exhibition by Colleen Asper
curated by Ted Mineo
El Gogo
Colleen Asper’s work with text considers writing as an image-making process akin to painting. Drawing from some of the most common places we encounter text—in typing on a keyboard or composing an email—she manipulates language through gross and material means. In the images included in El Gogo, the artist pictures Googling oneself as a series of physical interactions with the letters that comprise Google’s signature text.
