Fork Add-Art on GitHub

Installation

Add-Art requires Firefox

Step 1: Download Add Art Extension

  1. Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6846 and click “add to Firefox”
  2. You will be prompted to install add-ons only from authors you trust. If you trust us, click “Install Now” and the download will begin.
  3. You will be prompted to restart Firefox to complete the install of AdBlock Plus and Add-Art.

Step 2: Subscribe to Add Block EasyList

A filter list subscription will let Add-Art know which content is advertising. Without a filter list, you still see advertising.

  1. After restarting Firefox, in most cases you will be prompted to subscribe to a filter list.
  2. Choose “EasyList (USA)” (or the most appropriate list for your region/language) and click “Subscribe.”
  3. EasyList is now installed.

If you are not prompted to subscribe:

  1. Open EasyList http://easylist.adblockplus.org/ in new tab/window.
  2. Subscribe to easylist by clicking on the “Add to ABP” link, following the EasyLink listing.
  3. A dialog box shoold appear. Make sure both “Update Automatically” and “Enable Filters” are checked. Click “OK.”
  4. EasyList is now installed.

Step 3: View Art instead of Advertising

You should be enjoying art instead of advertising at this point. Every 2 weeks Add-Art releases new art and when new art is available you will prompted to restart Firefox to it.

If problems occur, check out our troubleshooting section.

Questions?

What happens when I click on the art?
Hopefully nothing. It won’t take you to the artists site, or to the Add-Art site… it might take you to the x11 spy camera site or a weight loss program. So, don’t click on it.

If you have more questions, look at the F.A.Q.s where we attempt to answer all your add-art queries.
